Orange County Utilities provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the
lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County, Florida. The Water Reclamation Division is responsible for
the administration and treatment functions of the wastewater system and the production of reclaimed water at
three water reclamation facilities that collectively treat approximately 50 million gallons per day.
The Water Reclamation Division is seeking a qualified individual to fill the "SCADA Technician" position. This
position is responsible for programming, installing, wiring and the maintenance of all equipment used for
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.
Work requires independent judgment and is performed under the general supervision of a designated
supervisor. Work is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
General Functions:

SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.

Representative Duties/Assignments:
- Programs PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Programs, installs and troubleshoots radio systems.
- Troubleshoots software problems with SCADA panels.
- Programs and troubleshoots HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) software.
- Troubleshoots hardware on SCADA panels.
- Troubleshoots computer software and hardware servers and workstations.
- Networks configuration, installs and troubleshoots fiber optic connections.
- Installs wiring for SCADA panels.
- Builds SCADA panels.
- Assists with purchase orders and work orders.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or Electronics Technology
or equivalent electronics technical school and four (4) years combination of experience in the following areas:
PLC programming, Radio systems, computer usage, instrumentation, electrical or HMI SCADA systems. An
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted for the education.
Must possess a State of Florida Class (E) Driver's License
Preferences:
Knowledge of SCADA systems including Fiber optics; PLC's; radios and data and transmission;
instrumentation loops, VBA, C+ or similar computer programming language programming; and a computerized
maintenance management system/MAXIMO

Pay Grade: 017 - From $29.06 to $37.76
