We currently have an exciting and immediate opportunity for a talented Field Superintendent in the Baton Rouge, LA area. As part of our Field Operations team, you will report to the Director of Operations. Core duties include performing management functions for field operations to ensure the effective use of equipment, materials, and staff.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Field Superintendent position is intended as an advanced department administrative and supervisory position. This position is required to be fully proficient in performing the duties required for Potable Water System Operation and Maintenance, Wastewater Collection System Operation and Maintenance, and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance. This position is responsible for the administrative and supervisory functions of the department. This position requires minimal coaching and mentoring for leadership and administrative functions from the Director of Operations. This position will develop and implement methodologies and strategies for executing the department's functions. This position will delegate tasks and projects to lower-level utility workers, and provide progress updates to the Director of Operations. This position is responsible to lead a group of other utility workers. This position will develop and implement methodologies and strategies for addressing administrative and supervisory matters, and provide progress updates to the Director of Operations.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Requires advanced vocational skills and knowledge of water and wastewater operations and management which might be acquired by obtaining certifications in Water and Wastewater treatment.

Experience: Five to ten years of directly related experience in water and wastewater treatment/operations, including at least three years in a leadership role.

Computer Skills: Basic skills.

Certificates & Licenses: Certifications in Water or Wastewater treatment are required.

Other Requirements

Work is complex and varied and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies, and procedures; also the ability to gather and interpret data involving analysis of several factors. Requires skills in explanation, persuasion, and diplomacy to resolve and arrive at decisions with others. Work requires driving a company vehicle; at on-site field locations, i.e. treatment plants, wells, etc., work may also require lifting/carrying hoses, ladders, supplies, motors, pumps, etc.; climbing in and around clarifiers, belt presses, pipes, etc.; operating heavy equipment. Equipment used includes company vehicles for transportation to and around field locations; personal computers and/or computer terminal tools to inspect, repair, and maintain equipment. May also use pumps, motors, belt presses, laboratory test equipment, and effluent sampler.

Driver's License: Valid Louisiana driver's license
