Dominion Water & Sanitation District (DWSD) is seeking a motivated and versatile Staff Engineer to support a growing portfolio of capital projects, development review, and system planning initiatives. This is a newly created position in response to significant system expansion, increasing development activity, and the District's transition to bringing more engineering functions in-house.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role provides project management, technical review, and coordination support across water and wastewater systems. The Staff Engineer will work closely with operations staff, developers, consultants, and contractors to ensure infrastructure projects are delivered in alignment with District standards and long-term system needs.
Located in northwest Douglas County, Colorado, DWSD serves a rapidly growing service area, including Sterling Ranch and other planned development areas. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to system expansion, oversee consultant work, and play a direct role in shaping infrastructure that supports continued community growth.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded engineer with experience in water and wastewater utilities, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and making a visible impact in a fast-paced, evolving utility environment.
